Help and documentation

Find your next useful connection.

Start small, follow a source, and widen the view when you need more context.

Read the atlas

  1. Choose View in atlas on a result.
  2. Select a node for its details. Expand it to retrieve more available connections.
  3. Select a relationship to inspect its source, supporting field, and observation date.
  4. Use filters to reduce the visible graph. Reset filters to bring hidden results back.

The node and relationship list gives you another way to explore the graph. On a phone, switch to List and open details in the evidence sheet. Expansion is deliberate, and graph size is limited to keep the view usable.

For a citation, the arrow runs from the citing paper to the referenced paper. Similarity is a different relationship and does not count as a citation.

Choose a different view

Trace looks for a directed citation path between two works, up to three steps in the retrieved graph. No path found means no verified path in that scope.

Timeline groups retrieved papers by publication year. Communities groups them by sourced topic assignments. Neither view measures the full literature or establishes a field's growth.

Investigate a question

In the AI investigation studio, enter a focused question and choose Retrieve evidence. You can use the Evidence Explorer without AI. Its source ledger links to the records behind the result.

For an optional synthesis, sign in and select the AI checkbox before submitting. Availability and usage limits are checked on each request. A synthesis labels inferences and links claims to retrieved evidence. Inspect those sources before relying on the answer.

Export a report as JSON, or save it to your library. Open a saved investigation to ask a follow-up with its existing research as context. New evidence may change the result.

Save and manage your research

Public exploration does not need an account. Sign in to save records, graph views, and investigations. My library separates them into tabs.

In Account and privacy settings, export your saved application data or delete it. Deleting saved research does not delete your sign-in identity.

When a result is missing

No results or an incomplete graph

Try an exact title, a shorter phrase, or a different record type. A source may lack references or restrict what it returns. Missing coverage is not evidence that a work or connection does not exist.

A source is temporarily unavailable

Read the coverage warning and retry later. Results from another provider can still be useful. CASCADES does not fill gaps with invented records.

Your sign-in link did not work

Open the link in the browser where you requested it. Check spam folders and use the latest link. If it has expired, return to sign in and request another.

AI is unavailable or at its limit

The status message explains what happened. Use the retrieved sources in Evidence Explorer, or retry later if a temporary limit was reached.
